I can tell you, I have read quite a few Christian reviews of Hocus Pocus and its sequel. They all center around one very scary topic: witchcraft.

That’s right. The biggest concern here is that your little ones will stray from the path of God and ignore the church’s teachings in order to practice witchcraft.

Even the prudes at Common Sense Media make no mention of the potential dangers of witchcraft. Their biggest issue is stating the sequel was actually better than the original Hocus Pocus. This is objectively false and blasphemous in and of itself.

Some Hocus Pocus 2 Christian review sites make it clear that good Christians won’t find the “dark” story and “occult” vibes funny. How could they? How could YOU!?

It is clear that, like showing even a hint of homosexuality, your kids will immediately reject all things Christ and go about forming their own coven of witches. So, of course, they also tend to make issue of the drag queen contest as well.

You may also need to know that Winifred boasts of taking the Lord’s name in vain. Twice. For Christ’s sake, how can such things exist in movies aimed at families? Dear Lord!

Some reviews mention that Christians may want to pray before letting their children watch Hocus Pocus 2. They also mention how some of the tops are low cut and reveal cleavage, and Sarah reveals some leg with a garter I might add.

Fortunately I was strong enough to not start immediately lusting over any of the women in the movie, but your little ones may not be so fortunate. What if they start feeling a tingling in their peepee? Then what?

You’d think a homophobic Christian would be happy their little one wasn’t gay? Go figure.

By far, my favorite take on Hocus Pocus 2 comes from a Texas mother who posted a now deleted take on how the movie would unleash “hell” into your home. She asserted that Hocus Pocus 2 could cast any number of spells on you through – you guessed it – your TV.

I can’t make this shit up. It’s seriously like the scene in Hocus Pocus 2 where the main girl recites a list of vegan ingredients – for some reason – and the moronic boyfriend thinks she cast a spell on him.

If you don’t let your kids watch Hocus Pocus 2, how can you ever show them great examples of what not to be? Let’s use Hocus Pocus 2 as a great teachable moment to all good Christian children everywhere.
