The Bluey long dog is a hidden Easter egg in damn near every episode of Bluey. In fact, its in 125 episodes and presumably counting since they will likely continue in future episodes.
Fanatics make a game of finding the Bluey long dog every time they watch the best Disney Junior series by a long dog. The fact that the animators took the time to include a hidden image in most episodes really makes you appreciate their efforts compared to say the mind-numbing antics of Mickey Mouse Funhouse.

What is the Bluey long dog?
Throughout most episodes of Bluey, the animators hid a long dog (aka dachshund or weenie dog) in different locations in the background.
To be clear, the Bluey long dog adds nothing to the plot of Bluey episodes. It just gives parents and possibly older kids something to look for when watching Bluey for the umpteenth time.
For those who need more clarity, the long dog in Bluey is not always the same image. It started of as a small blue statue or stuffed animal in Bluey’s playroom in episode 1.
From there, it has taken on different colors and forms, such as a constellation of stars or pile of yarn.
To be even clearer for those who still have not finished their second cup of coffee for the day, this list depicts the locations of the Bluey long dog that can ruin the fun of looking for the dog yourself.
But if you just want to dominate Bluey long dog hunting with your kids or other passionate adults, then you are in the right place.
Bluey long dog appearances
In this guide, I point out the first appearance of the long dog in every episode it appears. In some episodes, it will appear more than once.
Season 1 – Long Dog Bluey locations
Episode 01: Magic Xylophone – You can see a blue colored long dog when the first open view of the playroom happens.
Episode 02: Hospital – When Bluey gives dad (Bandit) a magazine, you can see the smiling face of a blue colored long dog’s face.
Episode 03: Keepy Uppy – In a near repeat of the Magic Xylophone appearance, you can see long dog in the first view of the playroom. It appears on the bottom left corner. It is blue like the one from the frist episode.
Episode 04: Daddy Robot – Another near repeat of Magic Xylophone and Keepy Uppy, the blue long dog appears next to the plush seat in Bluey and Bingo’s playroom.
In this episode, you can also see a purple or violet colored long dog appear in the laundry.
Episode 05: Shadowlands – Interestingly, the 5th episode does not feature the same long dog as the first 4 episodes. Instead, it introduces Snickers and his Mum (that’s Australian for mom) who are what Bluey describes as “sausage dogs” or long dogs.
Episode 06: The Weekend – Look closely behind a bush as Bingo runs through the backyard to see a green colored long dog in this Bluey episode.
Episode 08: Fruitbat – This dark blue long dog appears behind the outside wood steps as Bluey dreams.
Episode 09: Horsey Ride – In a two for one special, you can see one on the left side of the playroom behind some socks. You can see the other on the toy shelf during Sparkles and Gallahop’s wedding.
Episode 12: Bob Bilby – You can see a light brown long dog on top of a photo shop of the kindy (that’s Australian for kindergarten) classroom. A Blue colored long dog also appears in the playroom on top of a bench.
And a bonus violet colored long dog appears in the laundry, which is the same one as seen in Daddy Robot. This suggests that – despite many people’s view – the Heelers are not perfect and leave laundry sitting for several days. Take that cartoon dogs that parent shame so many people out there!
Episode 17: Calypso – You can see this Bluey long dog top of a cabinet near Rusty’s house. Despite being the color blue, it is different in appearance from the other blue colored versions.
Episode 18: The Doctor – You can see a blue long dog wearing glasses on the left side of the doctor’s office on top of a shelf in the waiting room.
Episode 19: The Claw – A blue long dog appears very quickly and not entirely on screen on the top of a shelf in the playroom.
Episode 20: Markets – You can see a dark blue one in the center of some pillows in a market close to the pony rides.
Episode 21: Blue Mountains – This greyish-blue long dog appears on top of a bush with some rocks on the left of the picnic.
Episode 25: Taxi – You can see a blue long dog on top of a shelf in the playroom.
Episode 27: Pirates – This blue with black ears long dog appears behind a ramp on the playground, below where mom is.
Episode 28: Grannies – When Bluey video chats with Nana, you can see a blue drawing on her fridge. You can also see a blue long dog magnet on the Heelers fridge. You can also spot a brown one on top of the playroom toy cabinet.
Episode 29: The Creek – You can see a dark green long dog with some moss on it as they get into the deeper part of the creek as Bluey gets into the water. It is behind them sitting on a rock.
Episode 30: Fairies – After Bingo comes out of the pantry, you can see a macaroni long dog when zoomed in on the inside of the elbow macaroni pot.
Episode 31: Work – This brown long dog appears on top of the playroom toy cabinet.
Episode 32: Bumpy and the Wise Old Wolfhound – Barnicus reads a book to Bluey that shows a blue colored long dog.
Also, you can see behind The Wise Old Wolfhound in her tent what appears to be the legs of an upside down Bluey long dog that is dark blue in color. Some speculate this is just grass since they are in the backyard.
Episode 33: Trampoline – You can see a brown long dog hidden in the branches of a tree in the upper left corner during the first shot of Bandit and the girls on the trampoline.
Episode 34: The Dump – For Bluey long dog searchers, this episode takes top spot due to the number of long dogs you can find.
You can see the first green one with a orange hat on its head at the dump entrance, just below the sign.
The next, dark colored long dog appears when Bandit throws the chair into the junk. It appears on a sign with another dog.
When Bluey gets sad and gets in the car, you can see a light brown long dog behind her.
When Bandit shows Bluey the paper dump, you can see a white long dog with a brown spot on a different sign.
The last Bluey long dog appears when Bandit throws Bluey’s drawings on the paper dump. You can see the white with brown ears long down on top of a wooden support behind a metal tube.
Episode 35: Zoo – You can see this Bluey long dog on top of a bench in the playroom when Bandit playing a baboon sees the banana for the first time.
Episode 36: Backpackers – Inside of the backyard warehouse, in the foreground next to the wheel. It is coloured Light Brown.
Episode 38: Copycat – In the vet’s main room, you can see a white with green spots long dog on top of some packages on a shelf above the front desk. You can see another brown one on the top of the playroom toy cabinet behind Bluey and Chilli when Bingo acts as the budgie in the backyard.
Episode 39: The Sleepover – A blue long dog with wavy ears appears on top of a shelf in the playroom. You can see it as Bingo, Bluey, and Muffin walk into the restaurant. You can also see the same dog again to the right of Chilli as she says “known for our speedy service.”
Episode 41: Mums and Dads – This Bluey long dog got buried inside the sandpit where Indie and Rusty are hiding. It has a light brown color.
Episode 42: Hide and Seek – You can find a dark blue one behind the pink ball in the playroom. Towards the end of the episode, you can see a blue long dog on the bottom shelf in the playroom as Bluey sees a dragonfly.
Episode 43: Camping – When the Heelers roast marshmallows, you can see a yellow one under Chilli’s chair.
Episode 45: Kids – You can see a cucumber version of the long dog with other cucumbers in the supermarket when Bandit finds Rocko.
Episode 46: Chickenrat – You can see the blue long dog on the bottom shelf of a bench in the playroom.
Episode 47: Neighbours – This Bluey long dog is a metal etching on a pink book cover. You can find it when Bluey picks the book up from the bookshelf.
Episode 49: Asparagus – This Bluey long dog appears on the fridge door as a magnet. It features pink ears and a dark blue color. You can spot another one in the tree as Bandit acts out being a peacock Bandit. The second one appears green and dressed up like a snail.
Episode 50: Shaun – In this episode, you can see the Bluey long dog on the fridge door. Keen observers will note this is the same magnet displayed in other episodes.
Episode 51: Daddy Putdown – On the fridge door. It is the same fridge Magnet from other episodes. Also, during a pin the pacifier game in Bluey’s baby shower, there is a Blue dog on the bottom of a shelf in the Playroom.
Season 2 – Long Dog Bluey locations
Not to be out done, Season 2 features several appearances of the Bluey long dog throughout the season.
Episode 02: Hammerbarn – You can spot a light brown Bluey long dog behind some boxes on the top left of the screen as they wait for the cashier.
Episode 03: Featherwand – In the very first scene of the episode, you can see a light brown long dog behind a brown plant pot in the foreground. You can also see the Bluey long dog magnet on the fridge.
Episode 04: Squash – You can see this brown colored Bluey long dog after Stripe gets a drink and when Bandit is begging Bluey to please not let him lose behind the trash can above the racket.
Episode 06: Stumpfest – On top of the playroom cabinet, you can see a brown Bluey long dog. You can see another green grass long dog behind the cooler to the left when Bandit yells to Bluey, “’cause then we’re gonna come and do that one.”
Episode 07: Favourite Thing – This brown colored long dog appears on top of the playroom cabinet.
Episode 08: Daddy Dropoff – You can see the first white Bluey long dog inside of a white car in the parking lot. Also, you can see a brown one in the Kindy on top of a photo shelf.
Episode 09: Bingo – In Bluey and Bingo’s bedroom, you will find a green Bluey long dog inside of a desk reading a book. Another dark blue one appears behind a book in the playroom cabinet. As an added bonus, the magnet long dog also appears on the fridge door.
Episode 10: Rug Island – When Bluey, Bingo, and Bandit scream at Lucky’s Dad (Pat), you can see a blue long dog on top of the playroom cabinet. Interestingly, later in the episode, the blue one disappears and the typical brown long dog appears in its place.
Episode 11: Charades – In the middle of some green wool balls next to the sofa in Nana’s house, you can spot a green long dog with a green Knit Cap.
Episode 13: Dad Baby – When Bluey and Bandit go to the backyard you can see a grey long dog on top of the playroom cabinet. The same dog disappears later and the usual brown on appears in its place. Also, you can catch a glimpse of the Bluey long dog magnet on the fridge door.
Episode 14: Mum School – You can see a yellow long dog with alien antennae on Bluey’s bedroom balcony below a stool.
Episode 15: Trains – You can see the Bluey long dog magnet again on the fridge. But you can also see a yellow one with a cone on its head on top of the fruit basket in the kitchen.
Episode 16: Army – You can see a grey long dog wearing an army hat behind a flower vase in Jack’s house.
Episode 17: Fancy Restaurant – You can see two in the playroom. The standard brown Bluey long dog on the bookshelf/cabinet. Another appears behind the pink ball that is blue and white with a red bow tie around its neck.
Episode 18: Piggyback – You can see a light blue long dog with a bike helmet inside the side-way hut below the bench.
Episode 19: The Show – In Bluey and Bingo’s bedroom, a green long dog reading a book is inside of a desk.
Episode 20: Tickle Crabs – When the tickle crabs get washed back in, you can see a dark green long dog behind a bush in the backyard. You can also see the standard brown Bluey long dog on top of the playroom cabinet as normal.
Episode 21: Escape – You can see a space dog drawing as the rocket lands on the moon. You can see it on the top left of the screen.
Episode 23: Queens – You can find a brown long dog wearing a crown, in the study, on top of the desk, behind some books. Sounds like the game Clue.
Episode 24: Flat Pack – You can see a polystyrene dog located on the bottom left of the polystyrene city. Also, at the very end of the episode, you can see the standard brown Bluey long dog on top of the playroom cabinet. You cannot see it before the end and it is not completely visible in the shot.
Episode 26: Sleepytime – A long dog appears as a constellation to the left of Bingo and Bluey as they run on the planet (also known as Bandit’s back).
Episode 28: Seesaw – You can see a concrete-colored long dog behind the bench when when the kids call Pom Pom to join them.
Episode 29: Movies – A black long dog with striped arrows appears on the left of the movie screen during the Thunderstorm part of the movie when Bluey hits the screen.
Episode 30: Library – You can see a brown long dog when Muffin gets a photo for her library card. It is below the sofa.
Episode 31: Barky Boats – The long dog with a dark grey color appears to the left of the rock pond as Bluey and Mackenzie race their barky boats.
Episode 33: Circus – You can see a sausage dog when Bandit uses the tomato sauce on the grill.
Episode 35: Café – This black colored Bluey long dog appears in the playground, below Bandit’s bench.
Episode 36: Postman and Ground’s Lava – When Bluey and Bingo go into the living room you can see a pink drawing of a long dog on the floor.
A bonus brown long dog wearing square glasses also appears when Bluey dashes from the wall to the “Lava Boat” on the living room cabinet’s second shelf.
You can also see the Bluey long dog magnet on the fridge door.
Episode 37: The Quiet Game – On the left side of the Moonlight Unicorns section of the toy store, you can see a cyan colored Bluey long dog on top of a big green egg.
Episode 38: Mr Monkeyjocks – In the playroom at the start of the episode, you can see a Rag Doll long dog close to a shelf, behind a blue jacket toy dog.
Episode 39: Double Babysitter – On Bluey’s bedroom balcony, you can see two long dogs that appear to be a couple behind Frisky.
Episode 40: Bad Mood – When Bluey makes the best house she has ever made, behind the Playroom window door. It is yellow with a Horn Helmet. Also, in the Study, behind the desk a brown dog appears, wearing a little Crown. It looks like the one from the episode Queens. The Magnet dog can also be seen on the fridge door, but on the lower one.
Episode 41: Octopus – In Chloe’s house, you can see a fish-patterned long dog in the aquarium.
Episode 42: Bin Night – You can see this green colored Bluey long dog it front of Doreen’s house, behind a bush but only on the second night.
Episode 43: Muffin Cone – You can see this Bluey long dog as the Muffin seed hatches. It appears on the bottom right of the sprout field and has a leafy green color and has a cone.
Episode 44: Duck Cake – This Bluey long dog appears behind a plant pot on top of the kitchen cabinet. It has a light brown color.
Episode 45: Handstand – You can see the Bluey long dog magnet on the fridge door.
Episode 46: Road Trip – This Bluey long dog appears as a bumper sticker on the back of one of the Grey Nomad’s car.
Episode 47: Ice Cream – You can see this brown long dog holding what appears to be a shell in the shop at the start of the episode. It rests on top of a shelf, behind some spiral shells.
Episode 48: Dunny – Below the bedside table on the right of the bed, you can see a light brown long dog.
Episode 49: Typewriter – When Bluey, Winton, and Snickers hide from Terrier’s bows and arrows, you can see a rock colored long dog with a monocle behind a bush, close to some rocks.
Episode 50: Baby Race – You can see this long down towards the end of the episode as Bluey crawls backwards into the kitchen. You can see it on the top of a cabinet. This one is brown and wearing nappies (that’s Australian for diapers).
Episode 51: Christmas Swim – This Bluey long dog dons a Santa hat and appears on top of the kitchen counter behind the oven.
Episode 52: Easter – You can see a white with colored spots wearing a bunny hat on the inside of a green bag when Bluey and Bingo go onto the kitchen balcony. You can spot a bonus Bluey long dog when they look at the Poinciana petals. It appears on the path to the front yard, behind a bush.
Season 3 – Long Dog Bluey locations
Season 3 also contains quite a few long dog Bluey Easter Eggs to look for. Here’s a list so far.
Episode 01: Perfect – You can see yellow, banana-like long dog in the fruit bowl in the kitchen when Bandit sits on Bluey’s chair. The Bluey long dog magnet also appears on the fridge door.
Episode 02: Bedroom – You can see a brown colored long dog with a tuft of hair under the chair in the new bedroom as Bluey is moving the rug into the room.
Episode 03: Obstacle Course – During the rematch, you can see the Bluey long dog in the dirt under a bush behind Bluey when she is balancing on the jump rope. When Bandit and Bluey get ready for the re-match, the standard Brown dog appears on top of the playroom cabinet.
Episode 04: Promises – You can see both a brown dog on a shelf and a blue long dog on a poster in the library.
Episode 05: Omelette – In Wendy’s yard, you can see a green long dog behind a plant. You can also see the Bluey long dog magnet on the fridge door.
Episode 06: Born Yesterday – You can see two Bluey long dogs in this episode. When Bluey and Bingo tell Bandit to believe them on the street, you can see a brown long dog holding a pie behind a bush. The other is another appearance of the Bluey long dog magnet dog on the fridge door.
Episode 07: Mini Bluey – Close to the crocodile plush in the Playroom. It is yellow with blue dots. The Magnet dog can also be seen on the fridge door.
Episode 08: Unicorse – You can see a brown long dog under the trees on the right hand side of the page when the Queen comes up with the idea to cover the whole kingdom in leather.
Episode 09: Curry Quest – At the airport, when Bandit hugs Bingo, you can see three:
- a white longdog on the backpack of a child in the far right of the screen
- dog in the farthest left has two:
- white long dog on their phone case
- brown longdog on the package they carry
Episode 10: Magic – When Bluey hides behind the beanbag, you can see a blue long dog with a purple hat and beard in front of a yard bush. It looks like a wizard dog. Also, when Bluey and Bingo are controlling Bandit and Pat, you can see a long dog near several drawings on the playroom wall.
Episode 11: Chest – A brown long dog flying with birds sits on the frame in the dinner room.
Episode 12: Sheep Dog – When Chilli goes onto the kitchen balcony, you can see a sheep like Bluey long dog behind a plant box. You will also be able to spot the blue long dog on the playroom shelf, the brown long dog on top of the playroom cabinet, and the Bluey long dog magnet on the fridge door.
Episode 13: Housework – You can see a blue long dog in the living room next to the cabinet. You can also see a grey long dog inside the vacuum cleaner.
Episode 14: Pass the Parcel – During the first birthday party, you can see two long dogs, a pink and dark blue one, passing a little parcel amongst the gifts. You can also see the Bluey long dog magnet dog on the fridge door.
Episode 15: Explorers – In Maynard shop, on top of a bait showcase. It is light brown, wearing a Beanie and holding a Strawberry.
Episode 16: Phones – When Bluey and Bingo bring the croc outside, you can see a long dog made from four drawings in the playroom. Also, you can see a brown long dog under the poinciana tree.
Episode 17: Pavlova – When Bluey gets the pavlova from the fridge for Bingo, you can see an edamame-like dog in the edamame beans box. You can also see the Bluey long dog Magnet on the fridge door.
Episode 18: Rain – This pink long dog appears in the laundry inside the washing machine.
Episode 19: Pizza Girls – You can see a brown long dog with a black moustache and green hat on the tree bench as the girls are about to deliver the mushroom pizza. It may reference Luigi from the Mario Brothers video game franchise.
Episode 20: Driving – As Bluey gets the almond milk, you can see a long dog wearing a pink hat and star glasses behind the wall. Another dark green long dog with a horn helmet appears on the block house beside Agatha when Bluey goes back to the car. It resembles the one from the episode Bad Mood. You can also see the Bluey long dog magnet on the fridge door.
Episode 21: Tina – When Tina puts Chilli on the cabinet, you can see a green long dog next to a pile of toys. You can also see the Bluey long dog magnet on the fridge door.
Episode 22: Whale Watching – Below the TV stand, you can see a green long dog. Another green one appears as Bluey and Bingo leave the living room sitting on a couch cushion.
Episode 24: Faceytalk – The Bluey long dog magnet appears on the fridge door. When Muffin drops the phone for the last time and the camera is spinning in the corner, you can see a dark green long dog under a hedge at the top left of the Heeler house.
Episode 25: Ragdoll – When the kids get Bandit to the stairs, you can see a purple long dog that looks like a ragdoll beside the furniture. Another pink one appears in the laundry inside the washing machine.
Episode 26: Fairytale – You can see a pink candy stick-like long dog below the pink sticks in the candy showcase. This is the same shop that has the arcade.
Episode 27: Musical Statues – You can see the Bluey long dog magnet on the fridge door.
Episode 28: Stories – When Coco speaks to Winton, you can see a blue one that looks like beeswax below the tables. Another sighting occurs when Winton and Indy get to the book shelf. You can see a brown long dog with big eyebrows and big muscles behind the pillows.
Episode 29: Puppets – When Unicorse starts crying, you can see a white long dog holding a ventriloquist dog behind the coffee.
Episode 30: Turtleboy – Before Bingo and Bandit leave the park for the last time, you can see brown long dog with a flower on its head that resembles a seed during the shot with the eucalyptus. It is inside a pod.
Episode 31: Onesies – When the girls go to answer the door, you can see a long dog wearing an orange cheetah onesie behind the stool with the keys.
Episode 32: Tradies – When the tradies come on the second day, you can see a yellow, hanging version on Sparky’s vehicle.
Episode 33: Granny Mobile – The first sighting occurs as the Heelers pass through Doreen’s garage sale. You will find the Bluey long dog below a table in front of a blue box. The second sighting occurs when you see a long dog with brown spots on the lolly jar Doreen gives to Muffin.
Episode 34: Space – You can see a pale yellow with petal wings on the button left among the flowers when Rusty rescues Mackenzie from the aliens.
Episode 35: Smoochy Kiss – When Chilli is hiding from the girls, you can see a green one, similar to the Whale Watching episode, on a couch cushion. Another brown long dog with an eye patch appears when Bingo is threatening Bandit with the basil. You can see it next to the fridge. The Bluey long dog magnet also appears on the fridge.
Episode 36: Dirt – In this episode of Bluey, you can fin a grey long dog with a green noise and a lot of hair in Wendy’s bathroom behind the bathtub.
Episode 37: The Decider – In Lucky’s house, you can see a brown Bluey long dog on top of a brown plushy on a toy basket.
Episode 38: Cubby – When Bandit starts crawling through the cubby, you can see a blue long dog in the first room.
Episode 39: Exercise – A purple Bluey long dog appears in the toy bin at Bandit’s doctor’s office.
Episode 40: Relax – You can see the grey Bluey long dog in the cupboard (that’s Australian for cabinet) behind the plates when Chilli is looking for dishwashing detergent.
Episode 41: Stickbird – In the puddle at the beginning of the episode, you can see a turquoise long dog with shell bottom as Bluey and Bingo run in front of their parents.
Episode 42: Show And Tell – You can see a light green long dog on top of the painted traffic signal box in front of Stafford State School.
Episode 43: Dragon – A white long dog likely sporting wings appears in the treasure chest located at the bottom right of the screen when Bandit drives the family out of the cave.
Episode 44: Wild Girls – You can see a brown long dog in the dirt in front of Coco’s shelter at the very end of the episode. It appears right before Coco and Indy dance for the last time.
Episode 45: TV Shop – When Bandit walks into the chemist, you can see two white long dogs. They appear on red boxes on shelves. You can also see a light green long dog on the bottom shelf to the left of the entrance.
Episode 46: Slide – A light purple long dog appears under the stairs of Lucky’s house.
Episode 47: Cricket – You can see a white Bluey long dog with a cricket bat in its mouth on top of the air conditioning unit at Rusty’s house.
